August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month. I’m not currently breastfeeding Remy, but I was fortunate enough to breastfeed him for the first three months. It was an amazing, but also challenging experience for us. Remy had reflux, and so we struggled with him gaining weight in the beginning. Once we were able to determine that he had reflux, I began supplementing with special AR formula. It was then, that he started to gain weight, and get back on track. I made the decision at three months to just formula feed him. I am truly thankful that I was able to breastfeed him for the time that I did, and there are lots of products that I used that I highly recommend to any mama who plans to nurse and/or pump. Walmart has lots of great pumps, storage bags, nipple creams and so much more. As new moms we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to breastfeed. In my opinion, feeding your baby, no matter how, (nursing, pumping, formula) is the only thing that really matters.
My top 5 items that we have used since Remy was born are listed here. 1. White Noise Machine – this one is amazing. We’ve found it works better than others, and is even a nightlight. 2. Baby Brezza Formula Pro – once I started supplementing with Remy we bought this, and it was a lifesaver! It mixes and warms the formula for you. 3. Aquaphor Baby Advanced – I literally use it for everything! Diaper rash, a little bump or blemish, scrape…it’s amazing! 4. Dr. Brown’s Bottles – these worked the best for us, especially with the reflux. The anti-colic vent system slows the flow, so less spitup. 5. UPPAbaby Cruz – this is my go-to stroller. I keep it in my car. We have the Vista as well, which is much bigger, but I think this one is the perfect size.
